At Hindsight Records we are always looking for the next innovation to bring you the greatest music of yester-year. When we first started refining the quality of older recordings it began with the process of editing by hand, on what used to be the height of recording technology - tape machines. Now, we have reached new levels of technology, being able to dig deep into the audio with microscopic precision - we can take what we started the journey with and make it totally new!

From the cleansing process to being able to update the sound to something the performers may have only imagined - we can use Machine Learning to separate these old performances to give them a truly remastered edge. Whether it’s bringing out all-new characteristics from these classic recordings or emphasizing a key moment that was lost to the annals of time, these new additions to the Essential Series aims to give you a brand-new experience to these timeless classics!

We’ve curated some of the finest performers and orchestras of the day to be included in this timeless series. These people redefined the instruments audiences had come to appreciate - bringing the likes of the guitar, the clarinet, and voice to places once only conceived.

George Barnes can be noted as a forefather to the Electric Guitar helping to shed a new light on ye olde jazz box - ripping through the night on elongated solos with the same errant virtuosity of any band leader at the time. Woody Herman took his sweet devotion to the art of songcraft and interwove it with the essence of the grand band-stand right alongside him. Freddy Martin and his cast of crooners brought with them class each night that matched the refined nature of the band who itself could play everything from a sweet tune to an all-out blast from the horn section - we’ve got something for everyone, no matter the band or instrument you hear; and among them so many more to experience!
